Hams in the Park

image_pdfimage_print

Come on over and set up your radio gear, HF, QRP, VHF, UHF, satellite, or whatever and enjoy the company of like-minded friends. Show off your equipment, see what others have, compare notes, learn and have fun! This is not a contest just a place for hams and those interested in Amateur Radio to get together and share the hobby. We encourage other groups to hold their own “Hams in the Park”. If you do, let us know! If it’s on the same day, let’s try to make contact via HF and, of course, Fusion. We’ll post your event(s) here. Let us know about your plans by sending Email to park at HamOperator dot com or reaching us on the HamOperator About page.

Different park locations should try to coordinate using MNWis. From there we can work on park-to-park communications using HF modes.

2021 Season

The 2021 season dates have been posted on the calendar. Dates are May 8, June 12, July 10, Aug 14, Sept 11, Oct 9.

These events are sponsored by BARS. All events are at Long Lake Regional Park except for August which is held at Swing Bridge Park in Inver Grove Heights. See below for more information.

Other Parks

Can’t make it our event? Have your own event then! We’re looking to partner with other groups who are having their own “Hams in the Park”. We’ll list other park event details here.
