  • AB3GD : I think there may be something going on which is affecting more than just MNWIS.
  • guest_5190 : guess there in no net tonight?
  • ka0jum : where is the net
  • N0KEW : Whats up with the .825 ? I cant understand anything anyone says on that one
  • guest_5190 : oops the FT-3200
  • guest_5190 : Cool, its handy when one only has the FT-3100, but I did notice that the BER is higher on vhf than uhf.
  • W4IOD/Odis : FYI: John "N9UPC" did not record the 7 July 2019 net.
  • K9EQ Chris : The low frequency VCO requires an inductor between pins 44&46. I just checked and it does have the inductor. Not all units have the inductor. Also the software needs to switch to the correct VCO. Not all hotspots have both.
  • guest_5190 : may void warranty
  • guest_5190 : oh no not CHIRP...on a Yaesu fusion radios.
  • guest_5190 : I am using one of the Chinese board dated 2018 now on vhf on my FT-3200. works good but ant has to b VHF plus no ceramic antenna on board (433 mhz)
  • K9EQ Chris : I don't know about VHF. It needs a different output filter and parts stuffed for the #1 VCO. It did not look like it had the 2nd VCO parts.
  • guest_5190 : and I believe it will do VHF as well.
  • N0KEW : ok
  • K0ORK : but the new repeater is not linked
  • N0KEW : oh man, that new fusion repeater is HT range to my house. finally!! thats awesome
  • N0KEW : That was my question. N0KEW. thanks for the infos Chris
  • W4IOD/Odis : Hearing the "AUDIO" is way over rated anyhow Chris. 🙂
  • N0KEW : sup dudes
  • W4IOD/Odis : lol
  • K9EQ Chris : Actually you don't need a vocoder unless you want to "hear" the audio. You do need the digital demodulator/modulator and all the usual FEC, etc.
  • W4IOD/Odis : no only one Vocoder
  • W4IOD/Odis : The 991A cannot do PDN
  • ka0jum : Hello
  • guest_1257 : hi
  • W4IOD/Odis : GE 8 July 2019
  • K9EQ Chris : GE 2019-07-08
  • N0KEW : Happy 4th 🙂 enjoy
  • N0KEW : Sup dudes
  • guest_8681 : So who’s is right.
  • guest_8681 : There are several resources online that say VW has more FEC 2400bps over DN 1200bps.
  • guest_8681 : Hi.
  • ka0jum : night
  • ka0jum : darn
  • ka0jum : short net

  • ka0jum : tnx all....off to watch the news
  • ka0jum : ok
  • AB3GD : continued. These reflectors are very handy for checking your digital audio levels..
  • AB3GD : Gary - There are also ECHO or PARROT reflectors on the FCS and I believe also the YSF networks which are very
  • ka0jum : I found the mic setting
  • ka0jum : thanks for the help
  • W4IOD/Odis : Chris, understood but it's about like listening to NCS I think it optional @ this point. The FT70D that I have I'm getting great signal reports with nice fidelity.
  • AB3GD : ka0jum - Gary - on the FT70, MCGAIN is item #31 in the SET menu and yes on this radio affects both analog and digital mic gain and as ODIS stated there is not a separate ccontrol for analog and digital. It is kind of a real PITA although you may find a happy medium.
  • W4IOD/Odis : The Ft2 will display a picture it's just B/W needs a micro sd card inserted.
  • K9EQ : Odis' setup is more typical. I just back off the mic on digital and raise my voice on analog. I really doubt that the FT-70D has a low audio problem. It might be low compared to some other stations, but they are probably too high. On the two radios, check the serial numbers to see if they're from the same batch.
  • W4IOD/Odis : GE
  • guest_6152 : Listening and learning😎
  • W4IOD/Odis : It's working for you John.
  • ka0jum : ok tnx
  • AB3GD : Just testing to checkout the MNWIS chat function.
  • W4IOD/Odis : Welcome & no problem Gary the FT2 is the same way depending on the voice type some folks have to turn it up to 7 on analog then back down for digital. It's a pain in the arse. Grrr!
  • ka0jum : thank you
  • ka0jum : I will look into that
  • ka0jum : I didnt know that the gain was adjustable
  • W4IOD/Odis : OUCH!!
  • W4IOD/Odis : Gary on my FT70D I run the Mic Gain on 5 on analog and 3 on C4FM

  • KG4Y Mike : You're welcome, Chris. Thanks for running this net, I enjoy getting on to listen when I can.
  • Chris_K9EQ : Sorry, wasn't looking at this screen. Tnx for the info Mike.
  • KG4Y Mike : Yaesu's current programs do end 6/30/2019. I upgraded my DR-1X to DR-2X with IMRS this year, and they were still offering re-furbed DR-1X repeaters at discount prices on the forms.
  • W9AUV Terry : Chris, do you know if Yaesu is offering a discount on the dr2x for ham clubs?
  • W9AUV Terry : Test2
  • Terry : Testing
  • K5CWO_Mike : Hi Chris, listening in from Fort Hood Texas. Can’t seem to be heard but am inside on my new FT-70 at 5 Watts.
  • W4IOD/Odis : Chris, I have noticed a difference thank you for all your hard work.
  • Chris_K9EQ : BTW Otis, US Kentucky is running new YSF software. Better filtering of bad packets, better logging.

  • W4IOD/Odis : KD9BFV, FYI: the Windows Defender is what I'm running on my WiresX computer without any issues what so ever.
  • K9EQ-Chris : Recommendation is to use Microsoft's free Windows Defender. Most (or all) AV software is bloated and bogs down your machine with all its "features". In fact AV can increase vulnerabilities and has historically had problems with Windows compatibility.
  • KD9BFV/Joel : N9KO - I switched to Kaspersky Free.
  • N9KO : KD9BFV - What AV did you switch to?
  • KD9BFV/Joel : Comment for the issue with WiresX dropping the connection. I had the same issue with my HRI200. My antivirus software was seeing the program running in the background and would block traffic. I changed antivirus and no longer had the issue. 73
  • K9EQ-Chris : Running 150 connections does uncover things. He's also on a different version of Linux where things are different. So the build will eventually work in even more places.
  • W4IOD/Odis : Hello ka0jum
  • W4IOD/Odis : Chris, we had the Kentucky net Sat night 6-8 the reflector worked flawless on the folks that checked in and made comments on it no packet loss or drop outs at all. Tip of the cap to you for that and many thanks.
  • ka0jum : Hello
  • W4IOD/Odis : Chris that's great maybe it will clear some of that train wreck up.
  • K9EQ-Chris : Hi there Odis. The America Link YSF will soon be running the new code. It has been helpful to have someone testing my stuff!!!

  • kb5nft/dale : I will be going to Philmont Scout Ranch this summer to setup July 22-Aug2 during the World Jamboree at Summit Bechtel Reserve, WV. So, now I have a 70DR, thinking about a FTM400XDR and/or a radioless setup using an eBay Mic. Any feedback would be great. At home here I have 100% cability to set all the open ports, and I even have No-IP. But going "mobile" with my TMobile hot spots. I'll take any advice. Thanks

  • W4IOD/ODIS : N0YQ you did it 🙂
  • KB7SQS-Lance : YSF Has it's own server and is totally sperate from Wires-x. They have to be a bridge to talk to each other.
  • KE8LQZ-Troy : What is the difference between YSF and Fusion?
  • W4IOD/ODIS : N0YO yes you did. 🙂
  • N0YQ : I fixed my callsign!
